This manual covers the
Monarch 10" Model EE Toolmaker's & Manufacturing Lathe.   This manual is not for the earliest model EE with the round gearbox selector plate.
This manual was dated 1949.    This manual is for the older style of EE lathe that has the Reliance Variable Speed drive, that is it has a motor generator unit to run a DC motor that is variable speed.  If your lathe has the square speed plate, and has the motor-generator unit, then this should be the correct manual.  I do have a manual for EE lathes with the vacuum tube electronic speed control, and also a manual for the later solid state speed control.   This manual covers a good description of the lathe and mechanisms, and has an Operator Section with a schematic included for a later electronic speed control.
