Pair of Antique Chinese Ching Period Silver Peranakan Hairpins / Hairspikes

Description

This is an ornate pair of Antique Chinese Ching Period Silver Hairpins / Hairspikes from Penang, Malaysia.  These hairpins was purchased in Penang in the late 1970's by my father & myself when he owned an Antique Shop in Batu Ferringhi.  I estimate the hairpins date from the Ching / Qing Period before the turn of the century.  He made his purchases primarily from 2-3 Antique Dealers that specialized in Peranakan / Nyonya Baba items who sourced their inventory from the native Chinese population of the island.  Please review pictures thoroughly in regards to the condition of these two items - the spikes themselves are clearly bent
Hairpin / Hairspike Dimensions:  3/8 of an inch
wide and 6 3/4 inches in length.   Weight: .6 ounces.
